An exhibitor may not show more than one (1) horse in any one class except in individual working classes (Reining, Working Cowhorse, Western Riding, Barrel, Pole Bending, Figure Eight, Jumping, Trail, Team Roping, Breakaway Roping, Team Penning and Cutting) in which a rider may show two (2) horses. 63.11 When a youth exhibitor and/or his/her father, mother, sister, brother, grandparents, step parents or legal guardian or any other representative/s acting on behalf of the exhibitor is guilty of unsportsmanlike conduct, the AQHA can suspend the rights of such exhibitor and/or the exhibitor‟s father, mother, sister, brother, grandparents, step parents or legal guardian or any other representative/s acting on behalf of the exhibitor, to participate in future sanctioned events for such a period as is judged appropriate. 63.12 For any situation not covered by Youth Rules and Regulations see appropriate class rules. 63.13 Halter – Youth If Youth Halter classes are run, the minimum number to gain approval is as follows: Youth Gelding 2yrs & under Youth Gelding 3yrs & over Champion & Reserve Gelding Youth Filly 2yrs & under Youth Mare 3yrs & over Champion & Reserve Filly/Mare Note: No Youth Halter Stallion/Colt classes can be held. 63.14 Youth Age Requirements and age divisions a) For horse show purposes the age of an individual on 1st August of that year will be maintained throughout the entire year. Example - A youth, who has a birthday in July and is eighteen (18) years of age on 1st August, may show throughout the entire year as an eighteen (18) year old until 1st August the following year; b) It is recommended that where there are large classes, they be divided into age groups so as to provide more equal competition. The age divisions listed below will not apply to Youth Halter classes; c) Ridden Classes: If there is to be one (1) class, undivided, the age group is to be seven (7) years to eighteen (18) years; If there are to be two (2) classes, the age divisions must be: 7 to 13 years; and 14 to 18 years If there are to be three (3) classes, the age divisions must be: 7 to 11years 12 to 14 years 15 to 18 years d) Showmanship: If there is to be one (1) class, undivided, the age group is to be five (5) years to eighteen (18) years; If there are to be two (2) classes, the age divisions must be: 5 to 13 years; and 14 to 18 years Page 74
