62.5 Payment of fees for entries, stables, camping, bedding and any levies incurred at a show, by any person other than the Amateur/Select Amateur or the Amateur‟s/Select Amateur‟s spouse, Defacto partner, parents, child of the family, grandparents, brother(s) or sister(s) will be considered remuneration. 62.6 Immediate family – Spouse, Defacto partner, parents, child of the family, grandparents, brother(s), sister(s). 62.7 Horses owned in partnership or jointly with any person other than the Amateur/Select Amateur‟s immediate family do not fulfil the ownership requirements for Amateur/Select Amateur. 62.8 An Amateur/Select Amateur may ride the same horse, in a different Amateur/Select class as those of another Amateur/Select Amateur, where the rules pertain to Rule 62.6 are met. 62.9 In order to gain points, AQHA Amateur/Select Amateurs can only show under AQHA Amateur Rules. 62.10 Every person competing in an Amateur/Select Amateur class must possess a current Amateur/Select Amateur Permit appropriately endorsed by the AQHA or the equivalent issued by their relevant breed Association. 62.11 No horse may be shown by more than one (1) competitor in any one (1) class. 62.12 Amateurs/Select Am ateurs may exhibit two (2) horses in individually judged classes. 62.13 See Rule 41.2 in regards to Amateur/Select Amateur classes and high point awards at shows. 62.14 For further situations not covered by the Amateur/Select Amateur rules, the rules applying to open classes will apply. 62.15 Youth – Upon application to the Association, a free Amateur Permit is made available for any Youth their first year out of youth, as long as that youth possess a current individual membership in their own name. Youth who wish to apply for an Amateur Permit must meet the criteria in Rule 62.2 62.16 Sponsorship – An Amateur/Select Amateur cannot accept sponsorship for payment of any show fees, levies, entry fees, stable and camping fees, cleaning fees, including transportation to and from the show or membership fees. 62.17 Amateur/Select Showing Lease Amateur/Select are allowed to exhibit leased horses. a) A Show Lease Notification form must be signed by both the Lessor and the Lessee and lodged with the Association before the Lessee has rights to the horse; b) All Show Lease Notifications will be for two (2) years only; c) The Lease Notification can be renewed by submitting another signed Show Lease Notification form at the time of expiry; d) The Association recommends that the Lessor and the Lessee have a private lease contract; e) During the term of the showing lease notification, only the lessee and lessee’s immediate family may show the horse.
