SECTION TWO (2) HORSES 9. All application forms and schedule of fees are available on the Associations web site: www.aqha.com.au. All paperwork lodged must be accompanied by the correct fees. a) Lodgement of paperwork will only be accepted from a financial member of the Association at time of lodgement. b) Refusal - Any application can be refused by the Board. The Board is not obliged to give any reasons for its refusal; c) To be registered or recorded with the Association, horses must meet the requirements in one of the following categories: 9.1 Horses bred in Australia, and Horses not born in and residing outside Australia, will be considered for registration if: a) The horse is the result of one of the breeding‟s in the Breeding Chart Rule 9.9 and a breeding return has been lodged by the stallion owner at time of service; b) It has DNA on file and is Parent Verified through a testing facility accepted by the Association; c) The horse completes any genetic testing as requested by the Association as stated in Rule 19; 9.2 Horses imported into Australia will be considered for registration if: a) They are AmQHA “Numbered” or “X” registered; b) A copy of the DNA markers, parent verification and any Genetic Test results are received with the application; c) The horse completes all genetic tests as requested by the Association in accordance with Rule 19. d) The application for registration is received within one hundred and twenty (120) days of the horse arriving in Australia, be accompanied by a copy of the shipping documents, a copy of the original AmQHA registration certificate and if a stallion complete the IBF process as per Rule 12; NB: Horses accepted as an Import will be registered with the same name as that recorded with the AmQHA and will have the letters IMP after its name and will be allocated a registration number taking into account five (5) generations of its pedigree and whether it has been upgraded by performance. 9.3 The Association will consider an application for a stallion to be registered for Imported Semen if: a) The stallion is AmQHA “Numbered” or “X” registered; b) A copy of the original AmQHA registration certificate is lodged with application; c) A copy of the DNA markers, parent verification and any Genetic Test results are received with the application; d) The horse completes all genetic tests as requested by the Association in accordance with Rule 19. e) The IBF process, see Rule 12, has been completed and is lodged with application; Page 20
