salon scandal:
THE LATEST NEWS FROM
EDINBURGH SALON,
HAIR BY JFK
We catch up with the team at the
Edinburgh hair salon, Hair by JFK
at 1 Bruntsfield Place, winner of
the Best Scottish Salon Award at
the Your Hair Awards last year,

The Melanic Angel Collection by Salon Directors
Sandy Caird and Faruk Mohammed qualified for
the British Hairdressing Awards late last year

magazine, Friseur in Germany. However one local
resident has taken to Twitter to complain that

salon windows, are “sexist advertising”.

hairdressers, that has ruffled the feathers of one
resident? Karen Brown, the owner of the salon
is surprised by the response but encourages
the debate and discourse that the images
have stimulated. “As hairdressers we express
ourselves through our photographic collections.

amazing response.”
The female photographer who worked with the
Hair by JFK team on the campaign, Martyna
Kamecka is also intrigued by the response,
