Spring Sports Kick Off

The Chieftain previews four teams primed for the season

Golf
A mix of experience and some rising young guns has the Golf team excited for the 2021 season .
Seniors Max Brown and Sam Yono will be leading the team , and talented Sophomores Lorenzo Panelli and Markus Lee help add to the hopes for this program on the rise . “ This year ’ s team is the largest it ’ s been in 10 years ,” said Mr . Dyar , the JV coach .

Lacrosse Every Spring , the boys on the Lacrosse team are pumped . “ After the cancellation of last season ,” said Junior Nate Schultz , “ we were all pretty bummed , but that ’ s behind us . Now it ’ s time to focus on continuing the tradition .”
This year ’ s team will be led by Seniors Tommy Kunz , Bobby Reaume , Evan DeVito , and Zach Rivers , and Juniors Paulie Fortino and Rory Everly .

The Baseball team will be led by a great pitching crew , featuring Seniors John Locker and Blaise

Track & Field
Last year ’ s team team met for five practices before the season was cancelled . Now the boys are ready to prove that they are the fastest , strongest , and most mentally tough .
Senior Joe Shaya said , “ We ’ ve got a lot of experienced guys coming back . We ’ re all hoping to make a run this season , and I feel that we have the assets to do so .”
Returning runners such as Shaya , Udodi Onwuzurike , Cole Lacanaria , and Joe Kawka will be joined by football players , such as recent Stanford commit Aristotle Taylor , who are using the Track season to condition .
