1) Mickey 17- If you have never heard of director Bong Joon-ho, this film is a great introduction. It ' s a sci-fi comedy, bending genres and poking fun at everything, Joon-ho has created a work so inspired, darkly funny, harrowing, and energetic that it will make your inner activist rise up. See it!... in theatres....
2) Black Bag- A swing and a miss for heretofore wunderkind director Stephen Soderbergh, whose enviable track record includes many critics ' favorites. This supposed suspense thriller is much like that doughnut you really did not need but had to have- a tasty snack you forget quickly.... Ignore it!
3) Running Point- So much better than most of the other sports related TV and flicks released over the last few years, this quick moving streaming show starring Kate Hudson is terrific. If you ever watched Ted Lasso and thought,“ I like it, but it’ s a bit heavy. It needs to be more like Emily in Paris,” then this show could be for you... Watch it!... on Netflix...
4) The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie- it ' s the return of Porky Pig and Daffy Duck in the first Warner Brothers full length feature worth seeing in memory... and yes, I hated the Space Jam films. This flick is a welcome return to what made the Warner Films so special- See it!... in theatres....
5) Love Hurts- Critics hate it, the audience loves it- take it for what it is... a straightforward love story with lots of fake blood and kung-fu moves and you have a quick 83 minute adventure that is best described by one review: " Don ' t overthink it."- I did, so avoid it!- in theatres...
