India Cannot Shirk Responsibility Towards Hindus Living in Bangladesh
RSS Joint General Secretary Arun Kumar has made it clear that the injustice, persecution, and violence faced by Hindus in Bangladesh is not merely the result of political changes— it is a continuous process. The Hindus of Bangladesh are India ' s responsibility, and we cannot shy away from this duty.
Sharing details of a resolution passed at the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha held in Bengaluru, he said the resolution expresses deep concern over the role of the Bangladeshi government and institutions in supporting ongoing violence against Hindus. He emphasized that anti-Hindu sentiment in Bangladesh is being weaponized into anti-India sentiment. The resolution also highlights the influence of Pakistan and the deep state of the United States in shaping the current situation in Bangladesh.
Arun Kumar said that to secure the rights of Hindus in Bangladesh to live with dignity and peace, not only the Government of India but also international institutions and Hindus across the world must step forward. The Hindus of Bangladesh have contributed equally to shaping the Indian identity, and they deserve our support.
He stated that Hindus in Bangladesh should be able to live peacefully and contribute to their nation. However, if a difficult situation arises in the future, India cannot remain a passive observer. We will have to find a solution, and we will not retreat from our responsibility. He stressed that India and Bangladesh share a common history and civilization. It is unfortunate that the partition of 1947 occurred. While the land was divided, the population was not. Both nations had agreed to protect minorities, and the Nehru-Liaquat Pact was signed to this effect. Sadly, Bangladesh has never honored this agreement.
Expressing concern over the situation in Bangladesh, he asserted that it should not be viewed merely as a political issue. Although governments may have changed, the root cause of the violence is not just political— it also has a religious aspect. The primary and ongoing targets are Hindus and other minorities. Their persecution is not a new development; for the Hindu community in Bangladesh, it is a question of survival.
He warned that those responsible for the violence are attempting to escalate it into not just an anti-Hindu but also an anti-India campaign. Several leaders have issued statements in this regard. There is a deliberate attempt to sow distrust and division between India and its neighbors. Many international forces are behind this. The roles of Pakistan and the U. S. deep state were specifically discussed.
The resolution calls for solidarity with the Hindu community in Bangladesh and stresses that efforts must continue until normalcy is fully restored. of anarchy. Later, a mob of radical Muslims attacked Hindu-owned shops and homes, besieged the Mothabari police station, and vandalized police vehicles. Though the police eventually claimed to have restored order by arresting several individuals, the district remains tense.
Following the violence, Union Minister of State for Education and Development of the Northeastern Region, Dr. Sukanta Majumdar, shared several videos of the incident on social media. He wrote:
