• Urges enactment of federal legislation protecting an individual’ s right to authorize or prevent any use of their voice, visual likeness, and / or image in a realistic computer-generated electronic representation.
• Urges all law firms, companies, and organizations that practice law to:( 1) adopt policies and practices that promote flexible work arrangements(“ FWA”);( 2) establish clear, equitable and written policies about the availability and procedures for FWA;( 3) permit lawyers time off to address personal and family needs; and( 4) provide lawyers with the tools and resources necessary for them to be successful with their FWA.
• Urges state, territorial, and tribal bar associations to convene a working group comprised of stakeholders in the criminal legal system to study and make recommendations regarding: 1) best practices for establishing and supporting conviction integrity units and programs that are designed to prevent and remedy wrongful convictions; and 2) effectively supporting and expanding the capacity of innocence organizations, conviction review programs / units, and innocence advocacy in their respective jurisdictions.
There will be another slew of resolutions prior to the ABA Annual Meeting in Toronto in August 2025. The proposed resolutions are available online on the Bar Association’ s website.
