ROCK Breakfasts are Back at JSAMS
One of our favorite traditions at Jersey Shore Area Middle School is recognizing our students that go above and beyond our ROCK expectations with a special breakfast each month . Students are nominated by JSAMS staff to attend the breakfast , based on excelling in the areas of ROCK : Respect Yourself , Organize and Plan for Success , Care for People and Property , and Keep on Learning . For the first time since 2020 , we were able to bring this back !
Students learn of their invite over the announcements a few days prior and receive a letter confirming their invitation that can be shared with their families . At the breakfast , a certificate detailing what they ’ ve done to earn the recognition is read aloud for all to acknowledge . From there , the principals serve them a specially prepared breakfast that they can enjoy with their friends before returning to class .
What makes this event even more special is the community involvement in pulling it all together . The JSAMS Life Skills class work hard at setting up and tearing down the orange and black decorations . The Nutrition Group provides meals for the students that are typically above and beyond what is normally offered in the cafeteria . Bacon is always a fan favorite ! We are also very fortunate to have a number of local sponsors that donate funds to cover the cost of breakfast . Many times , the sponsors are able to join us and interact with the students , as well .
