Members of the YLS Board of Directors recently enjoyed a fun and informative weekend at the Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division ’ s annual Affiliate Outreach Conference . YLS attends the Conference each year to network and build relationships with members of other young lawyer voluntary bar associations around the State and to submit award and grant applications for our various community and member service programs . At the Conference this year , YLS won the YLD President ’ s Award for its grant presentation on our Scales of Justice Fishing Tournament !
YLS & ADR Joint Webinar on Mental Health During COVID-19
On February 1 , YLS co-hosted a webinar with the ADR Committee on the “ Impact of COVID on Mental Health and Ways to Cope .” A panel of mental health professionals spoke on important topics such as managing anxiety and depression during COVID , lessons learned from the pandemic , and suicide prevention and postvention . We also heard about the various resources available to lawyers for help with mental health and wellness . It was a great reminder that focusing on your own mental health will not only help yourself but also make you a better advocate for your clients ! Thank you to our sponsor eHome Counseling Group .
