Sally Lapides co-founded Residential Properties
Ltd . in 1981 . As president and chief executive officer , Sally has built RPL into Rhode Island ' s largest and most successful independent real estate company , with more than 230 agents and seven offices across Rhode Island and Massachusetts . Behind Sally ’ s energetic leadership and vision , RPL has ranked # 1 in Rhode Island for overall sales volume for more than two decades straight , and recently became the first company to ever record over $ 1 billion in annual State-Wide MLS sales .
As an active , philanthropic member of the community , Sally has provided a long time commitment to economic justice while offering a wealth of experience , leadership , and Board work to local organizations . After a decade of serving as a partner , mentor and champion for Year Up , Sally was recently announced as Year Up Rhode Island ' s new Board Chair . Over the years , she has served as the Vice Chair of the Board of Governors at the RISD Museum and has been a trustee on the boards of Roger Williams University , Smith Hill Center , Trinity Repertory Company , and Providence Country Day School . She was the former chair of the Board at the Gordon School , the Newport International Film Festival , GAIA ( Global Alliance to Immunize Against Aids ) and The Rhode Island Foundation ’ s Equity Action Campaign Committee , which raised $ 1 million for the Fund for the LGBT community .

Growing up in Barrington , Sally graduated from Boston University with a B . A . in art history . She is married to Arthur Solomon and has two sons ( Emmett Barnacle and Ian Barnacle ), as well as a total of ten grandchildren in the combined family .
