When the terrain looks like it ’ s from a sci-fi movie , you know something spectacular is going to happen . And for spectacular terrain , the Kenda AMA Extreme Championship , presented by XC Gear , could not have picked a better location for their inaugural event than the Amphitheater OHV area in Page , Arizona . Comprised of a combination of deep desert sand and sandstone rocks , riders were challenged to a 16-mile course with a four-hour time limit that put their skill to the ultimate test .
Sunday ’ s event saw 182 riders across seven different classes take to the sands . Husqvarnasupport rider Danny Lewis led the PRO class off the start line , with RPM KTM ’ s Cooper Abbott , Red Bull KTM ’ s Taylor Robert , and FactoryONE Sherco ’ s Cody Webb on his heels . Robert was able to make a pass for the lead , but soon found himself defending the position from Rockstar Energy Husqvarna ’ s Colton Haaker , while Webb and FMF KTM Factory Racing ’ s Trystan Hart found themselves banging bars about thirty seconds behind .
