The loop was a fairly easy three miles of desert with 10 sections . The SCTA series still operates under the traditional observed checking , and we are grateful to those who put in the time to work sections . Section terrain was a nice combination of grippy rock slabs , boulder gardens , deep sand ( or as Louise Forsley says , our desert version of mud ), small hill climbs , fist sized rock gardens , all flowing with the occasional technical parts ; sorry no logs in the high desert . The event was generally a low scoring event , which made for some tight battles . All in all , it was a fun day of competition , smiles , and good times . Thanks to all those who put in the work for the event and thanks to all those who showed up and had fun .
