hands and forearms . Keeping that core tight is also very important ! I usually add some type of core movement to the workout or I will do an ab circuit afterwards .
Now we can talk about one of the most important pieces to the puzzle , aerobic conditioning . We all know the feeling of gasping for air while we ’ re fighting to keep the bike upright . At times I ’ ve been in a race where my heart rate was spiked and my bike was upside down , facing the wrong way ! What helped keep me pushing when my lungs felt like they could explode , was the amount of work I put in off the bike to gain aerobic capacity .
How we build aerobic capacity during a workout is by adding a lot of cardio based exercises like ; running , rowing , burpees , jump rope , bicycling , on top of our lifts . Any movement that keeps your heart rate high during your workout is the goal . Trying to focus on intensity during your workout , will help keep you motivated to push a little extra , so next time you ’ re on the bike , you will feel it pay off !
