COVID is continuing to take its toll on world motorcycle sports , and the SuperEnduro World Championship is far from immune . Countries popular for hosting rounds of the series , such as Poland and Spain , are tightening their restrictions on travel , which could make a truly diverse rider pool almost impossible .
As recent as March 11 , the Polish Minister of Health has announced that the country has entered its third wave of the pandemic as the number of new cases continues to increase . The US Embassy & Consulate in Poland has advised that travel to Poland should be reconsidered .
Another popular location for the SuperEnduro world Championship , Spain , now requires that travelers must either meet a very specific set of requirements or have already obtained special permission from the Spanish government to gain entrance to the country .
Adding in unique country-imposed quarantine requirements for citizens crossing country borders means that in order for the series to be successful , it will need to be truncated , much like the 2020 AMA EnduroCross series .
ABC Communication , the series promoter , has come to agreement with the Hungarian organizer to host the full 2021 series at the Papp Laszlo Sportarena in Budapest on April 1st , 3rd , and 4th .
After the first round on Thursday , April 1st , the organizers will use Friday to make some design changes to the track . Qualified riders from Round 2 will automatically transfer through to the two finals on Sunday for the main classes .
Spectators will be limited , but race fans can still watch all the excitement live through streaming services like EnduroTV and MotorsportTV .
Obviously last-minute changes are a common occurrence nowadays , and all parties will continue to monitor the situation to make sure that the series remains safe for both riders and support staff , and that all health regulations are followed .
