the greens for their approach shots most of the time , like pitching wedge , 9-iron or 8-iron . Yet recreational players teeing off from the back tees are mostly hitting 6-iron , 5-iron or hybrid . This is a huge disadvantage for the recreational golfer and poor strategy . The result in making this decision ? Poor approach shots resulting in higher scores .
QUICKER PACE OF PLAY :
Playing the wrong tee box results in hitting more errant shots , both off the tee and in the approach shot area . Of course , pace of play at times will always fluctuate based on how busy the course is , but if everyone in your group plays the proper tee box , the round of golf you ’ re playing goes much smoother .
MORE FUN :
Who doesn ’ t want to have more fun on the golf course ? Playing a closer tee box more suited for your game just makes the golfing experience more enjoyable . You won ’ t feel so much pressure off the tee . Hitting shorter irons for approach shots allows you to work with the clubs meant to help lower your score . Finally , you will have more birdie opportunities . Imagine how much fun golf will be when instead of those 8 or 9 times per round your putting for par , it was actually for birdie .
So “ Tee It Forward ” and watch your on-course performance improve your scorecard and your golfing experience .
See you on the course ,

Coach Steve
