ON THE COURSE : “ PLAYING FORWARD TEE BOXES ”
Here at Dubsdread Golf Learning Center , we believe the best way to learn the game of golf on the course is to learn from the “ green back to the tee box ”. This is why we utilize the Operation 36 platform . Starting from the Op36 25-yard marker ( level one tee box ) is the absolute best example of “ playing a forward tee box ”. Even though the following information will be for the times when golfers play a “ traditional ” tee box , it still applies to why golfers should use our Op36 platform for on course play and improvement .
I have watched thousands of recreation players play golf . One common error on the course I see all the time is the first decision you make before you even tee it up on the first hole : what tee box should I play ? Most golfers play a “ traditional ” tee box that is too far back . Let ’ s think about that : if choosing what tee box I ’ m going to play is the first on course decision I make before I start the first hole and I get that wrong , I have in essence set myself up for failure before I have hit a single shot . There are many reasons why golfers get this wrong , but let ’ s list just a couple of the ones I see the most : “ the pros all play the back tees ” and “ the other two or three players in my group are playing further back ”. These two examples are clearly not the proper way for a golfer to determine which tee box they should play . Another reason golfers struggle making the right decision in this area can simply be from a lack of knowledge or understanding . Let ’ s go over a few concepts on why playing a more forward tee box is the right decision .

When golfers say to me , “ I ’ m playing the back tees because the tour players do ”, they are assessing the wrong part of these tour players ’ game . Tour players also hit shorter irons into
