(Continued from page 14) while there, Don Parsons of Cookshire came in to the Church hall to pick up the daffodils for the Sawyerville-Cookshire area– Cookshire being 39 packs of ten flowers, and Sawyerville being 40 packs of ten flowers plus a few more. Don told us that about 900 yellow daffodils were headed to just these small towns alone. The hard-working group of ladies certainly had to hustle to get everything ready. The Len- noxville United Church donates their hall to this worthy cause and with countless volunteers this daffodil days was a huge success. We lined up the ladies for a fast photo but we were told they had to get right back to work, as customers were waiting. –Corey Bellam LENNOXVILLE PROM FAIRIES On Sunday, we visited the Alexander Galt Regional High School to attend an afternoon held by the Lennoxville Prom Fairies. These are not your ordi- nary winged fairies that flit around twinkling–they are a group of men and women that provide and make prom dresses and tuxedos for young adults that are graduating from Alexan- der Galt this year. They provide the dress or tuxedo to kids that really can't afford a dream prom dress, and all the cost that comes with graduation from high school. This hard-working group help to make it a day that these young men and women will remember the rest of their lives. This group also pays for the makeup for the young ladies, the hair, and everything else. Sunday, this Prom Fairies group held a benefit bingo event at Alexander Galt Regional High School, and the Chronicle attended to check out the action. We spoke to Prom Fairies orga- nizer Nancy Grey and we were told that 2017 marks the fifth year doing the bingo and the sixth year doing dresses and tuxedos for the grads. The bingo was attended by very close to 180 people, so it was a very nice turnout that will certainly help many. –Corey Bellam EAST ANGUS CRAFT SHOW Saturday, the Chronicle
