of Lancaster, Dr. Carol J. Hood
of Honolulu, Hawaii, David M.
Hood (wife Susan C. Hood) of
Danville, California; one sister,
Carol Hood Reed; two brothers,
Christopher Bailey and James
Bailey; 14 grandchildren; 13
great-grandchildren; and many
nieces, nephews and cousins.
At the start of his career, Paul
served in the Army National
Guard and as a Police Officer for
the Town of Lancaster. He then
worked 35 years at Public Ser-
vice Company of New Hamp-
shire. At the same time, Paul
inherited Hood’s Atlantic Service
Station and Hood’s Taxi in St.
Johnsbury, Vt., from his father,
which he operated for many
years. Paul was also a well
known Master Electrician and
worked many nights and week-
ends as “Paul D. Hood, Electrical
Contractor”. Ultimately, Paul
partnered with his wife to run
“Aurore M. Hood Real Estate” in
Lancaster.
Paul enjoyed his family most
of all. He also loved bowling,
dancing the polka, summers at
Ossipee Lake and Lake Seymour,
hunting camp in Maine with his
best friends, and was an active
Snowdrifter for many years.
Visiting hours were held
Thursday evening, April 27, from
5-8 p.m. at the Bailey Funeral
Home in Lancaster. A Mass of
Christian Burial will be cele-
brated Friday afternoon at 2 p.m.
at All Saints Church in Lan-
caster.
Reverend
Matthew
Mason, pastor, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Calvary
Cemetery, Lancaster.

GROVETON–A memorial ser-
vice for Karen Merrow, 59, who
died Dec. 24, 2016, in Worcester,
Mass., will be held Friday morn-
ing, April 28 at 11 a.m. at the
United Methodist Church in
Groveton. Interim pastor Rev.
Dr. Philip Polhemus will offici-
ate. Burial will follow in Nor-
thumberland Cemetery.
