Friday, April 14, 2017 The Colebrook Chronicle Obituaries Kent G. Washburn KENT G. WASHBURN SAN ANTONIO, Tex.—Major Kent G. Washburn, (Ret.), 74, of San Antonio, Tex., passed away at the Scott and White Medical Center in Temple, Tex., on Fri- day, April 7, 2017, from compli- cations of injuries received in an automobile accident. He was born in West Stewart- stown on March 12, 1943, a son to William and Arlene (Hann) Washburn. He was raised in Pittsburg and graduated from Pittsburg High School in the Class of 1961. From 1961-64, Kent attended the University of Alaska at Fair- banks and later graduated from the University of Oregon in 1966 with a bachelor’s degree in psy- chology. He then entered the U.S. Army and served for more than 20 years as an officer in the Medical Service Corps. Kent was especially proud of being the Distinguished Honor Graduate of his Army Medical Department Officer Advanced Course. During his Army career, he served an extended tour of duty in Vietnam plus two combat tours in Korea. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, and numerous other for- eign service awards. Following his military career, Kent obtained a Master’s degree in education from Johns Hopkins University in Maryland, a Mas- ter’s degree in hospital adminis- tration from Baylor University in Texas, and a Master’s degree in military science from the Army’s Command and General Staff College in Leavenworth, Kansas. In 1978, he was initi- ated into the Sigma Iota Epsilon Honorary Management Frater- nity. Upon his retirement from the medical field in 1986, he assumed a full career as an antique dealer specializing in American glass work. In 1994, Kent authored and published “The Price Survey,” a price guide for elegant and Depression glass. He was a board member of the National Depression Glass Asso- ciation for eight years before serving as its president from 1998-2010. During his presi- dency, he started the National Glass Collection and initiated the drive for a Glass Museum, Washburn leaves behind his son, Michael Morris and wife Lisa of Bela Vista, Ark. and their four children, Dominique Nyce, Levi Kent Morris, Matthew Mor- ris and Logan Morris; two broth- ers, Brent Washburn and wife Marybeth of Concord, and their two daughters, Sarah and San- dra Washburn, and Larry Shields of Gilmanton, and sons, Christopher and Patrick Shields; his niece, Sarah Russo and hus- band Alton of Gorham, Maine. There are no public calling hours. A graveside service with military honors will be held later in the spring at the Indian Stream Cemetery in Pittsburg, of which notice will be given. Deborah Guinard DEBORAH GUINARD LYDONVILLE, Vt.–Deborah (Dupont) Guinard died April 9, 2017. Debbie, 54-years-old, was born on June 11, 1962, in Lan- caster. She fought a courageous battle with cancer. Debbie worked many years in the health care field as a nurse’s assistant. Her grandchildren brought her much joy and happi- ness. She enjoyed nature, camp- ing, fishing and music. She leaves behind her two sons: John M. Pinto and wife Jessica Pinto of Roxbury, Vt., Nicholas M. Pinto of St. Johns- bury, Vt. Seven siblings: Teresa (Dupont) Carriere of Gilman, Vt., Charles Woodward of Lancaster, Nancy (Woodward) Booth of Lyn- donville, Vt., Michael Dupont of Queens, N.Y., Shelly (Dupont) Brown of Tilton, Jaclyn Dupont of Lancaster, and Marie Dupont of Sanford, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
