TALENT SHOW AT
CENTENNIAL THEATER
Wednesday evening the Centennial Theater on the Bishops
University Campus came alive
with song and dance at the
fourth annual Champlain's Got
Talent show, starting at 7 p.m.
with many students taking the
stage to sing, dance and play
music in front of three judges
that judged them on their talents.
This show also included a
surprise performance by regional
fiddling sensation above the border, Courtney Drew, along with
her brother Cordell. This year
Courtney kept her performance
a big secret until the big night.
Courtney with her fiddle and
Cordell with his guitar amazed
the crowd and with Courtney’s
trick fiddling. She fiddled with a
plunger and with mittens on.
Then it was time for the surprise–she step-danced while fiddling. The crowd went wild.
This talent show also included
many young men and women
singing their hearts out and
playing some unique tunes. This
entertaining show lasted about
three hours with everyone giving
their all to impress those judges.
This event was brought to our
attention by Bev Musty, who is
Courtney's grandmother.

LENNOXVILLE
CLEAN-UP
Saturday morning was full of
action in Lennoxville as some
community members, city officials and students took to the
streets and parks to take part in
the Lennoxville Clean-Up. This
year’s event kicked off at 10 a.m.
at the Amedee-Beaudoin Community Center above the Lennoxville Fire Station with close
to 60 people, ranging from very
young right up to Joyce Young at
82 years young. This lady is a
resident of the St. Francis Manor
Retirement Home in Lennoxville.
This year, like every year,
Bourrough of Lennoxville President, the Right Honorable David
Price, welcomed all to their event
with Councilor Claude Charron
also speaking to the group before
they grabbed rakes and bags to
clean up the town. Bishops College School was on scene with
paint rollers to paint over many
places that had been victim to
graffiti and to help pick up garbage.
