Citizen Kane is back at the box office
Whatever you think of him, no-one
can deny that Wayne Rooney has
been, and continues to be, a great
striker for club and country. One day
he might even be regarded as a true
legend and not just England’s record
goalscorer (which he will surely become).

And I will one day be able to tell
my grandchildren that I was there,
watching from the comfort of my box
seat at Wembley Stadium, to witness
our captain receive his 100th cap
from Sir Robert Charlton himself. A
proud moment indeed and one I will
never forget.
Sir Bobby presents 100th cap to Rooney
That’s great, I hear you say, but why
exactly are you telling us this?
Well, because you too could participate in another memorable moment
in our football-mad nation’s history on 27 March. Roy Hodgson has
confirmed that Tottenham’s Harry
Kane (pictured above, top left) will,
barring injury, feature in the squad
for the first time when England host
Lithuania at the home of football in
the next Euro 2016 qualifier.
One can only imagine that our quasi-Dickensian manager would be pilloried with some gusto should Tottenham’s number 18 not be first on
the team sheet to start just 4 months
and 1 day shy of his 22nd birthday.
For Kane is, at the time of writing,
leading the goalscoring charts across
Europe, with only Lionel Messi for
company. The numbers simply add
up.
Picture yourself, then, entering the
box office to be greeted with a spectacular view of Wembley stadium.
Imagine no queue for the facilities,
with refreshments and food at the
end of the phone, and, of course, one
of the best seats in the house when
the game begins. Not to mention
your own widescreen TV to catch
replays on and free Wi-Fi. With exclusive entertainment after the game
and a good chance of spotting a VIP
or two, the opportunity is literally
priceless...
