What ’ s Happening From Heidi …
So , remember when I said that we would be slowing down for March and April-that we would be looking to get some things done before moving into the summer months ? Well , was I wrong ….
The chamber staff has been busy planning and reinvigorating summer events . We are adding some new things that are already getting some good buzz . May 1 kicks off our summer with the official Rails to Trails Celebration and Bike Expo . Be here at the depot from 8-2 for breakfast , then stroll through our vendors and bike show , check out the Monroe County Nutrition Coalition bike blenders and recipes , talk with Ben , and be sure to get out on the trail . The official ribbon cutting will be at 1:00 p . m .
May 8 th is the opening of the Farmer ’ s Market .
May 14 th is the Chamber ’ s first ever MiMS , Music in Mueller Square . This is an adult only event from 8- 9:30 p . m . Be sure to bring a chair and relax under the stars while listening to Jay Hoffman and Dominic Orrico . Fat Sam ’ s will be available for food and Cork ‘ n Barrel will have their patio open for beverage purchase .
Concerts in the Park will kick off with Dirt River starting at 7:00 p . m . on May 26 . We are really excited to bring some new talent to town and we hope you enjoy it . Posters with the official line up will go out the first full week of April . If you would like one , please let us know . Sponsorship opportunities are still available and this provides your business with a few moments at the start of the concert to say a word or two and the privilege of introducing the band . You may also set up a display about your business .
Then we go into June with concerts and of course , Butterfest . Be sure to stop by the chamber ’ s booth , “ It ’ s a Butter World ” to try some new things and play some kids games . Our newest event will be the Pedal Paddle Fish Kayak Rendezvous that is set for June 26 th . Get a hold of Erica if you want more information about that .
