• Effect Size( e. g., Cohen’ s d or Hedges ' g): Indicates the magnitude of the difference, regardless of statistical significance.
A significant paired t-test result( e. g., p < 0.05) suggests that the intervention had a meaningful effect, while a non-significant result( p > 0.05) indicates that any differences could be due to chance.
Results from the paired t-test on the pre and post survey results. All questions asked showed a‘ statistically significant’ increase, with the questions“ I know how to search for an apprenticeship vacancies”,“ I know how to apply for an apprenticeship” and“ I am aware of the minimum wage per hour for apprentices and other financial support available” all having an‘ extremely statistically significant’ increase from pre to post survey( see table 7).
All questions showed a low / extremely low p-value which confirmed that the results were not due to chance.
The Pearson Correlation examines how consistently individuals changed from pre to post survey. Table 7 shows that the questions that had the questions“ I am thinking about applying to an apprenticeship”,“ Apprenticeships are for people like me”,“ I think if I applied for apprenticeship I would get in”, and“ I understand what well-being support is available to apprentices” all have moderate correlation between pre and post surveys.
What it means for each question?
Question I am thinking about applying to an apprenticeship
Apprenticeships are for people like me I think if I applied for apprenticeship I would get in I understand what well-being support is available to apprentices
Interpretation Participants generally became more interested in applying, and this change was moderately consistent across the group. There was a noticeable increase in feeling represented or included, and this shift was fairly consistent. Confidence in being accepted increased, and most participants experienced this boost to a similar extent. Awareness of support improved, and while the change was not uniform, it was moderately consistent across the group.
