Dr Katie Dray
Programme Director , Sport Coaching Science , Canterbury Christ Church University
Katie is a Senior Lecturer at Canterbury Christ Church University where she is the current programme director for the undergraduate Sport Coaching Science programme . Her research is primarily focussed on the experience of the coach , examining issues around coach learning and behaviour , including the emotional experience of being a coach . She is an active netball coach working with local club and county teams and an advocate of getting more women and girls into coaching and keeping them there . Katie is a strong proponent of encouraging coaches to employ evidence-based practice and her consultancy work for the university most commonly involves coach development opportunities that help make this research accessible .
Chris Chapman
Learning Experience Manager , UK Coaching
Chris is the Learning Experience Manager at UK Coaching , having previously been the Development Lead Officer for Talent and Performance Coaching . His role primarily focuses on the development of great coaching content to support coaches to be the best they can be . Prior to working in coach development Chris worked at the Rugby Football League for 11 years as the Performance Youth Coach leading the talent pathway and national age group teams and latterly as the National Player Development Manager . He also coached England age group U15-U20 teams and more recently , the England Women Rugby League team to two World Cups . Having stepped down from that international role , Chris remains active within rugby league and is currently supporting the Performance Department to establish a new Girls Talent Hub Player Pathway .
