It is my pleasure to contribute to this latest edition
of the Applied Coaching Research Journal. As a
teacher (ie coach), educator, researcher and author
in dance and dance science, I advocate for
research-informed practice. I am fortunate to
contribute to many organisations such as One
Dance UK, Safe in Dance International, and the
International Association for Dance Medicine
& Science where there is a shared mission for
distilling the latest peer-reviewed research into
applicable and relevant mediums for dissemination
to those with the power to enact change for
generations to come – the dancers and dance
teachers/coaches. To that end, the mission of this
journal fits perfectly with my personal vocation
and I am delighted to introduce the valuable and
meaningful research papers that you will encounter
in the following pages.

Strive programme specifically, the methodology
and findings are applicable across coach developer
