Farmington
Dakota County Fairgrounds – The sprawling acreage of the Dakota County Fairgrounds on Farmington ’ s southern edge is home to more than just the Dakota County Fair . The site has also been the venue for other events , such as car shows , concerts and more . Dakota City Heritage Village – Dakota City Heritage Village offers visitors the chance to experience rural life in 1900-era Dakota County . A recreated historic village and museum , Dakota City ’ s 5-acre site includes 22 buildings . It offers special events throughout the year with costumed interpreters and demonstrations . The village and museum are open for educational programs , senior groups , celebrations and tours by reservation . Located on the Dakota County Fairgrounds , 4008 220th St . Vermillion River – The Vermillion River has long been recognized as one of the best places for trout fishing in central Minnesota . The city of Farmington provides public access within Rambling River Park . The trout stream portion

Rosemount
Central Park Splash Pad – This aquatic park that has little or no standing water opened in July 2014 . It has a variety of ground nozzles that spray water upward and a moving water feature that turn on by hand for a limited time . It is open seasonally from 9 a . m . to 9 p . m . at 2893 145th St . Irish Sports Dome – Open since January 2005 at 13901 S . Robert Trail , the dome has more than 100,000-square-feet of space for soccer , lacrosse , softball , batting cages and other sports training areas . The dome offers “ open dome times ” on occasion .
