Japan Apparel Imports
January to July 2018
India, Bangladesh and Vietnam escalate in
apparel export to Japan
Despite a slight surge in unit prices, Japan experienced growth
in its apparel import during January-July 2018 period. After
China, which contributes 59 per cent in total import value of
Japan, Vietnam dominated with 14 per cent market share and
got massive jump of 20.12 per cent in value-wise export during
the review period. Bangladesh and India, on the other hand,
noted considerable surge as the countries registered double-
digit growth in their respective apparel exports to Japan.

India Exports
During the review period, India got a
boost in both volumes and values of
apparel exports to Japan by 7.48% and
10.61%, respectively.
Vietnam Exports
Vietnam surged impressively by
20.51% in volumes, while values
increased by 20.12% on Y-o-Y
basis.

Bangladesh grew in both knitted and
woven segments. Apparel exports to
Japan upped by 19.49% in volumes
and 19.51% in values.
China Exports
China declined in its apparel exports
to Japan as volumes plunged by
(-) 0.91%, values too tumbled by
(-) 0.58%.
