Japan Apparel Imports
January 2018
Japan begins 2018 with decline in its
apparel imports
Over the years, Japanese consumers’ apparel spending has
been greatly affected by factors such as tax increment, ageing
population and low disposable income. These factors have
resulted in price sensitivity among the Japanese customers and
it’s further causing a shift in purchasing pattern that is greatly
affecting the apparel industry in Japan. As a consequence,
the year 2018 too started on a negative note as the country
imported low volumes on high unit prices in January month.
