INDUSTRIAL MACHINE NEEDLES’ SUPPLIER
GROZ-BECKERT TO NOURISH YOUNG INDIAN TALENT
G
roz-Beckert Asia (GBA) Pvt. Ltd.
has teamed up with Apparel
Training & Design Centre (ATDC),
India’s largest quality vocational
training provider for the apparel
industry, to provide vocational training
to young Indian students in the
textile and apparel industry. Notably,
Groz-Beckert Asia is a wholly-owned
Indian subsidiary of Germany-based
supplier of industrial needles, precision
components and tools for the apparel
and textile industry, Groz- Beckert KG.
The technology provider intends to
promote skill development training
activities under their CSR (Corporate
Social Responsibility) initiatives in
apparel sector to create employment
opportunities/self-employment for the
benefit of unemployed/disadvantaged
sections of the society. The collaboration
with ATDC is in line with Groz-Beckert’s
CSR plans. Dr. Anton Reinfelder, MD,
Groz-Beckert Asia, emphasised the
importance of productivity in today’s
business to remain competitive as
quality is taken for granted as per
requirement. “Students need to value
working on machines at shopfloor level.
There is a need for deeper engagement
to make this initiative of imparting
technical knowledge and skill to the
underprivileged a sustainable endeavour,
maintaining the consistency of training
quality, thus making the students readily
employable,” said Dr. Reinfelder.

It is worth mentioning here that more
than 3 lakh individuals and 1.5 million
families have improved their living
standards with support from the
ATDC-GBA association in the past 6-7
years. Both the parties now intend to
increase the impact to a larger section.
The collaborative training provided by
ATDC-GBA has increased the skill-level
of the disadvantaged individuals to make
them employable in the textile industry.
Markedly, those getting training here are
being offered employment not only in
India, but in overseas too.
Under the agreement, the training will
be offered at selected ATDC Centres
in manufacturing clusters such as
Ludhiana, Tirupur, Noida, Mumbai,
Ranchi, Indore and Okhla. Groz-Beckert
will sponsor the one-year training
programme for 40 students and the
short-duration courses for 80 students.
“The support which Groz-Beckert
Asia is extending to the students will
greatly help and motivate the aspiring
candidates to join ATDC’s focused
Vocational Programmes. The company
known for its Technology Leadership
has set a laudable example, which
we hope will be emulated by more
companies,” averred Dr. Darlie O
