Bijendra Kagzi, MD shares, “We initially thought to launch the products at the international show in Frankfurt but the show in India is an opportunity we couldn’t let go of. The motive behind participating this year is to understand the customer and collect feedback from domestic and international buyers as we launch. Post this show, we will target the international show too.” Adds Rajiv Nilhani, Vice President Business Development, “This is the first time we are launching digitally printed home linen in cotton and other luxurious fabrics. We are the only company to have the fastest digital printing machine in the country – MS LaRio, which can print up to 120 inches and hence is suitable for the home segment. Though the market conditions have not been so good in past few years many exporters are of the view that businesses that are providing service along with the products are sustaining with a positive hope from the show. Thinking from the buyer’s point of view, they come to India for its core strength in offering handmade products and natural fibres. Lokesh Parashar, Vice Chairman of The Buying Agent Association says, “There is a wave of eco-friendly products in home textile, so people want the natural thing in their home. The international buyers are looking for high-end good quality fabrics in natural products like handlooms, hand knotted, hand dyed fabric, embroidery done by hand which are more preferred over machine one.” The Buying Agent Association is working tirelessly to bridge the gap between international buyers and exporters in the country. They are also co-hosting a panel discussion at the event to help learn effective trade mantras for ‘Luxury products for Indian buyers’.
