TEXPROCIL presents 56 awards across
32 categories

ewarding excellence in exports,
The Cotton Textiles Export
Promotion Council (TEXPROCIL)
recently presented 56 awards across
32 categories to 36 companies this
year during the TEXPROCIL 2017-
2018 awards. The criteria laid
down for the purpose of selecting
the winners included their export
performance for the year 2017-
18 with weightage on percentage
increase in their total export,
breakthrough in the market and focus
on product development, etc. From
this year onwards, a new category of
generating highest employment has
also been added. Few of the pioneers
of Indian textile industry also received
awards in some of the categories.
Smriti Irani, Minister of Textiles,
presented these awards in Mumbai.

and Rs. 45.43 crore, respectively in
this category. Special achievement
awards were given to GTN Textiles
Ltd. for yarn; Paramount Textile
Mills for fabrics and Premier Fine
Linens for made-ups. Globe Cotyarn
and BVM Overseas Ltd. received
awards for highest employment
generation between 100-300 and
above 300, respectively. Silver Nitin Spinners 91.84 - - - -
It is worth mentioning here that 22 out
of 36 companies which got awarded
this year, had also received awards in
the previous year.
