International Footwear Fair, held in
New Delhi, the company displayed
its shoe-upper knitting machine for
the first time and the response was
truly encouraging. “Many leading
names in the Indian footwear
market visited our booth and were
impressed with the quality and
design capability of our technology.
We hope to get good business, from
many of them, some of whom are
even contemplating to replace their
existing machines with Shima
Seiki,” shares Umeda. The biggest
advantage that Shima Seiki machine
has is the negligible rejection rate in
the production of shoe uppers, which
means not only better saving as
yarns used are very expensive, but
also better ROIs on the machine.
