Telangana may get small- and medium-scale
textile park soon
A small- and medium-scale
textile park is likely to come
up in Telangana soon. This has
been proposed by Telangana
State Industrial Infrastructure
Corporation (TSIIC). The under
consideration park is likely to
be housed at Pendyala village of
Janagaon District.
The move is aimed to boost
the textile industry in the state
including the Micro, Small and
Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The
establishment of such a facility will
encourage reverse migration of
weavers from textile manufacturing
hubs such as Surat, Bhiwandi and
Solapur to their home state.
At the meeting, the textile
entrepreneurs were assured of
land allotment and were asked to
increase the production of home
textile products such as bedsheets
and home linen, like Solapur. meeting with the textile industry
stakeholders recently.
Additionally, special subsidies
and incentives are likely to be
announced for the textile parks and
clusters spread over 50-100 acres
of land, announced Corporation
Chairman Gyadari Balamallu at a Balamallu also revealed that the
Government is mulling to offer
residential facility within the
premise to accommodate workers
at these units in the vicinity to
save time.
Further, the TSIIC Chairman
revealed that the mega textile
park at Kakatiya, to be set
up at a cost of Rs. 11,000
crore under a public-private
partnership, would be open to
expansion based on the demand
from the textile industry.
