Organizes private exhibition in Bangladesh
Shima Seiki, the Japan-based knitting machine provider, organized a threeday( July 25-28, 2018) private exhibition at the showroom of Pacific Associates Ltd., in Dhaka, to present value-based, innovative products and new technology for the Bangladesh market. The company invited existing knit factories, buyers, buying houses, circular factories, and sewing factories, with an aim to cater to the need from buyers’ perspective and thereby lead to a new market structure. Visited by 76 entities, the three-day event witnessed presentations for each product line up, from design system to knitting machine and cutting machine as Total Fashion System, as a solution to the industry. Shima Seiki exhibited a range of WHOLEGARMENT machines including MACH2S, MACH2X173 and SWG091N2 18G, along with other machines like SVR123SP-SV 14G, P-CAM223 and 3D design system, SDS-ONE APEX3. Typically, a knitted garment consists of separate parts – the front and back body panels and the sleeves – which are sewn together afterwards. In sharp contrast, Shima Seiki’ s revolutionary WHOLEGARMENT knitwear is produced in one entire piece, three-dimensionally directly on the knitting machine. Consequently it requires no expensive, time-consuming post-production labour, realizing a whole new kind of knitwear that would otherwise require highly skilled sewing labour or even be too
complicated to sew. Because there are no seams to hinder motion, WHOLEGARMENT knitwear is suited to applications outside the realm of fashion as well, such as sports, medical, and other examples of wearable smart technology. Seam-free‘ second skin’ fit and comfort, in addition to the sustainable benefits of knitwear that consumes only the material required to produce a single garment, makes WHOLEGARMENT the‘ ideal knitwear’. Also exhibited in the three-day event was SDS-ONE APEX3. As the core system in Shima Seiki’ s Total Fashion System concept, APEX3 provides comprehensive support for the entire supply chain from planning, yarn design, garment design and evaluation to machine programming and even sales promotion. What makes APEX3 stand out above all other design systems is its realistic simulation capabilities like: Yarn creation and loop simulation: Even the basic element of knitwear – the yarn – can be scanned in or created from scratch to be used in loop simulations. Even yarn count and yarn ends are taken into account for simulations so real that they can replace actual sample making. Patternmaking and grading: APEX3 is equipped with full-featured patternmaking software for producing patterns that allow production of new and unique, highquality WHOLEGARMENT items. Correct sizing by use of grading software yields an optimum silhouette for each size.
