Canada Apparel Imports
January to July 2018
Canada is gradually becoming a key market for
exporters!
Canadian apparel industry has always been lucrative for the top
garment exporting nations. Proving its worth, Canada continued
growing till July this year with 4.11 per cent growth. Bangladesh
is somehow losing this market and China too is feeling dents in its
apparel export to Canada providing India and ASEAN countries an
opportunity to grab the shifting business.

Japan Apparel Imports
January to June 2018
Japanese apparel import escalates during H1 ’18;
Vietnam and Bangladesh gain heavily
The first half of 2018 proved to be a better year for Japanese
clothing import as compared with H1 ’17. Overall unit prices
remained stagnant, while a marginal decline was noted in prices as
far as Bangladesh and Vietnam are concerned which propelled the
Japanese buyers’ demand in volume terms. However, in the 2nd
quarter (April to June ’18), the import of Japan continuously declined
from US $ 2,169 million in April to US $ 1,996 million in May and,
in June, it valued US $ 1,840 million which is not a good sign for the
exporters.
