Hikari brings to Bangladesh market the combination of speed and real-time data collection
Technology providers nowadays are constantly introducing latest technologies and developments in the market to support their customers. With automation and real time data monitoring, it has now been possible for apparel manufacturers to improve productivity and quality.
Hikari, a leading Chinese sewing machine manufacturer, which constantly dwells on its strong R & D to bring out the best, was no longer a stranger to innovation at the Garmentech. The Chinese pioneer has already some reputed customers in the country including Nassa Group, Standard Group and Giant group; and to further strengthen its foothold, it displayed a range of its sewing solutions during the event. On display was world’ s first computerized super high speed overlock machine – HX6814. Equipped with patented intelligent design technology and a super high speed mechanical structure, the machine helps to increase efficiency by 30 %.
The machine runs on a fully automatic mode where the operator doesn’ t even require pressing the pedal to run the machine. The mechanism works on a sensor which when detects the fabric, runs the machine.“ Hikari overlock machine has the world’ s highest speed, that is, it runs on 8000 RPM and we do not call it‘ High Speed’ machine, we call it‘ Super High Speed’ machine,” informs Xianbo Xu, Director, Hikari. The fully automatic mode does not even require a high skilled operator for the operation.
On the other hand is the semi-automatic mode in which sensor detects the fabric and lifts the presser foot. It then waits for the operator to press the pedal and start the operation.
Drifting away from the clutch motors, the machine uses direct drive servo motor that helps significant percentage of energy to be saved. Servo motor only consumes electricity while sewing; it does not consume electricity when in idle position. 66.6 % electricity can be saved with the help of Hikari computerized overlock machine.
The company has also addressed the problem of leftover wastage after trimming with a self-developed waste collecting system. This system automatically collects the waste generated keeping the floor area clean and also the operator safe.
Another highlight of the Hikari was the‘ Intelligent Cloud Technology’ for its machines. The system can be integrated with the Hikari machines which will help in the real-time data collection and monitoring for better decision making. It can monitor various parameters such as usage of thread, number of stitches, needle running time etc., and can compile and remotely transfer the data to the cloud.
“ A manager or a supervisor can see the report on his screen sitting anywhere in the world and can take an action to further address the problems hampering the productivity,” explains Md. Shohidul Kamal, Managing Director, Sewmak which is the dealer of Hikari in Bangladesh. The‘ Intelligent Cloud Technology’ can connect not only the SNLS machines but also the overlock machines in a production line.
As far as training is concerned, Hikari and Sewmak together conduct 4 types of training and seminars.“ We send Chinese engineers to Bangladesh and vice versa to help them understand what is the machine’ s requirements. Further, we have in-house local seminars in Bangladesh every month. Lastly, we organize trainings in factories too, both for new installations and existing ones,” concludes Xu.
Hikari is confident of tapping at least 30 % growth in the Bangladesh market during 2018.
