APPROACHES BANGLADESH MARKET WITH PRICE
AND QUALITY

hen it comes to the technologies
available for apparel manufacturing,
technologies of European and American
origin are considered to be engineered
with excellence and reliability. But Chinese
technologies, on the other hand, have
been stereotyped as ‘inferior quality’ and
‘unreliable’. However, it does not hold true
for all the manufacturers out there in China.
Baihui under the brand name ‘Pilot Future
Technology’ (PFT) is among them.
The story of its high quality is as interesting
as its inception of association with Eastman
Technocrafts. The jeans’ automats
manufactured by PFT have been developed
on Italian technology and are as good in
performance as the high-end European
brands. It also produces these machines for
some European brands. “Last year I went to
the manufacturing facility of Baihui and was
impressed with the level of quality involved in
its manufacturing,” said Manik Chowdhury,
MD, Eastman Technocrafts. The jeans
automatic machines company has joined its
R&D efforts with Taizhou University, China.
It was then that Manik decided to introduce
the technology in Bangladesh market under
a new brand name. Bangladesh has been a
hotbed for manufacturing bulk quantities of
jeans, thus creating a wave of competition
among jeans automatic machines’
companies. “The entrance of PFT has added
to the competition, with 30-35% cheaper price
compared to that of the other brands in the
market,” informed Manik.
Present in Bangladesh from past one year,
PFT has become the brand to give guarantee
on their machines for three years. To set
up a complete automatic jeans’ line, only
14 machines would be required. It offers
machines such as automatic 2 needle belt
loop attaching sewing machine, automatic
pocket hemming machine, and automatic
waistband machine. Eastman Technocrafts
installed around 9 machines last year.
The brand has been a getting notable
response from manufacturers in the
Bangladesh market over the last one year.
The highlight of the company is PFT-3020TD-
MT, a fully automatic pocket setter machine
with cold folding group. The machine is
equipped with automatic fabric feeding
and automatic thread break sensor, and
the machine can give an output of 120-150
pairs in 10 hours. The speed reaches up to a
maximum of 2,700 to 3,000 RPM.
