TRADE STATISTICS Rise in unit prices costs US more dollars on apparel imports January to April 2018 The USA upped its apparel imports during the first 4 months of 2018 in both values and volumes. Unit prices, however, were up marginally against the same period of 2017 which caused the USA to spend more dollars on the imported apparels. China fell short in its apparel shipments to the USA after performing positive in the first quarter that ended on 31st March 2018. Vietnam, India and Bangladesh witnessed growth both in volumes and values which indicates that South Asian countries are now back on track to gain pace in the USA’s clothing market.
