Ahead of festive season, USA rebounds in its apparel imports
January to September 2018
US apparel imports continued marking growth even in September as Chinese shipments witnessed jump of around
5.83 per cent in the month in value terms. On the other hand, imports from Vietnam too surged in September by
7.85 per cent which was the fastest pace the country noted after May this year. The growth was seen despite unit
prices jumping by 0.94 per cent which indicates that Vietnam is the favourite destination for US buyers even during
holiday seasons. Bangladesh and India also capitalised on the festive season and experienced growth in their
respective export to USA.
