Canada Apparel Imports
January to December 2018
Canadian apparel import rises 4.41% in 2018
Apparel import by Canada marked notable surge to conclude
2018 on a positive note. Measured in value, as much as 85% of
apparel imported by Canada came from the Asian countries. China,
Bangladesh and Cambodia remained the top 3 exporters in terms
of values with 1.51%, 2.84% and 6.13% surge in their respective
exports. Vietnam and India too grew by 15.44% and 3.38%,
respectively.

The knitted apparel reported 3.94%
surge during the review period,
whereas the woven segment rose
by 4.93% in value terms.

Bangladesh saw 3.78% surge in its
knitted category export to Canada during
the review period. On the other hand,
the country escalated in woven garment
exports by 2.06%.
Japan Apparel Imports
January 2019
Japanese apparel import kicks off 2019 with
declining unit prices; a positive sign
Japan escalated its apparel imports, both in volumes and
values, supported by low unit prices that it got from its suppliers.
Bangladesh, as predicted, started off massively with 34.82 per
cent surge in value of its exports. The success of Bangladesh can
be again attributed to its capability of providing buyers with desired
quality in low cost; something Bangladesh is always known for. India
and Vietnam too noted growth in the first month of the year in their
respective apparel exports to Japan.

the country upped by 42.44% in
volumes and 34.82% in values.

11.57% on Y-o-Y basis.
