MARKET WATCH
After opening about 40 outlets of its flagship
H&M, Swedish fashion house H&M Group now
plans to bring another fashion label, Cos, to India.
Three people familiar with the development said.
“They are planning to open two outlets each in
Delhi and Mumbai starting next year,” one of
them told ET. “They are also exploring to bring
a couple of their other fashion brands.” Cos, an
abbreviation of ‘Collection of Style’, is a mid-
market fashion brand priced slightly higher than
H&M with more than 290 outlets in 44 countries.
Market watchers said H&M has been encouraged
by strong quarter-to-quarter sales for its flagship
brand in India. Buoyed by the addition of new
stores and aggressive pricing strategy, H&M
reported 45 per cent increase in sales in India for
the year ended November 2019 at R1,491 crore.

Mustang’s New Collection
Helps it to Remain on the
Top of its Game
Inspired by the beach and other summer
activities, like cycling and gymnastics, Mustang’s
Spring/ Summer ’20 collection focusses on cool
colour patterns. “Comprising a variety of socks
like ankle and short length, techno-driven and
health socks, this collection reflects summer
breeziness through its innovative designs and
prints,” says Lubeina Shahpurwala, Co-Founder
of the brand. In colours, the collection focusses
on lighter shades such as: white and pastel
colours that would help customers beat the
summer heat. The fabrics used for the collection
include a mix of cotton, polyamide and elastane.
“We are also launching argyle and fruit prints for
men in order to add a touch of quirkiness to their
plain socks,” adds Shahpurwala. The collection
also includes a range of no-show socks in the
kids’ category which will be available in both
basic prints and jacquard designs.

Bodycare to Improve Brand Performance with New Collections,
Retail Channels
The soon to be launched lingerie range from Bodycare Creations will focus on the needs of modern women. “We will
add new patterns such as demi-cups to our existing bra range besides experimenting with light and pastel colours,”
notes Sanjay Dawar, Director of the brand. The fabric for this collection will mostly be cotton, “as it provides unmatched
comfort for all seasons,” observes Dawar. Additionally, the collection will include stripes, polkas and abstract prints.
Bodycare recorded a balanced performance last year and plans to improve brand performance with new collections
this year. It also expects to improve sales by adding new retailers to its already robust chain. “We plan to open exclusive
brand outlets in Noida. This will help us get direct feedback from customers and help plan our products,” adds Dawar.
