FREE EYE CHECK-UP CAMP AT DADAR, MUMBAI
The Association Organised a Two-Day Free Eye Check-up Camp on 21st and 22nd May, 2019, at
SIGMA Estate, Senapati Bapat Marg, Dadar (West) for the benefit of the Workmen in the Garment Units
around Dadar, Mumbai.
The Eye Camp was inaugurated by Mr Babubhai Ayar, Hon. Gen. Secretary, in the presence of
Mr Paresh Vora, Member, Managing Committee, Mr Ramesh Hingorani, Mr Prakash Parekh, Members
of the CSR Sub-Committee and Doctors of K B H Bachooali Hospital, Bombay. A Total of 595
Workmen was examined during the Two-Day Camp and 378 Workmen were given free Reading and
Bifocal Glasses as prescribed by the Doctors.
The Eye Camp was well received by the Members who appreciated this CSR Initiative of
the Association.
IAF SPRING MEETING
The IAF Spring Summer Meeting was held from 12th to 14th May, 2019, at Frankfurt, Germany.
Approximately 50 Delegates from over 15 Countries attended the said Meeting. Mr Rahul Mehta,
President, attended the Meeting on behalf of the Association.
REPRESENTATIONS AND CIRCULARS
We had sent our views to the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, New Delhi, on 24th April, 2019,
regarding the assistance sought in the Broadening/Expansion of Customs Tariff by creation of New
8-digit Customs Tariff Heading/Lines for Specific Commodities.
We had also sent our Suggestions to the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, New Delhi, on
14th May 2019, for the Proposed National Policy for Retail Trade to be formulated by the Department
for Promotion and Internal Trade (DPIT).
24th April, 2019 Cir. No. 68th NGF/01/19 was sent by Courier and E-mail
to all Members of the Association, informing that the 69th
National Garment Fair will be held between 15th and
18th July, 2019, at Bombay Exhibition Centre, NESCO
Complex, Goregaon (East), Mumbai 400 063.
2nd May, 2019 Cir. No. N-4/02/19 was sent by E-mail to all Members
of the Association, informing them that National Small
Industries Corporation (NSIC) has uploaded on its Website
the new Procurement and Marketing Support Scheme,
under which it will provide Marketing Assistance to Micro
and Small Enterprises, to Participate in Fairs and Events
such as the 69th National Garment Fair (NGF). Also
enclosed in the entire Scheme are Salient Features of the
Support, Documents Required by NSIC. It also advises
Exhibitors at the 69th NGF to send their Applications
to NSIC.
13th May, 2019 Cir. No. C-2/03/19 was distributed to Members in and
around the Dadar/Prabhadevi Area, informing that
the Association has decided to Organise a Free Eye
Check-Up Camp for the Workmen of the Members of
the Association on 21st and 22nd May, 2019, at SIGMA
Estate, Dadar (West), Mumbai 400 025.
