Echoing the thoughts of Irani, Arvind Panagariya, eminent economist who served as the first Vice Chairman of NITI Aayog from January 2015 to August 2017, said in an earlier interaction, “India must focus on the growth of labour-intensive sectors to create decent jobs for the masses.” Panagariya highlighted the priority areas with a clear focus on the growth of labour- intensive sectors including apparel, among many others, to create jobs for the masses.
