Designer Gautam Gupta’s luxury prêt and fusion
wear label GG has launched the Spring Summer
2019 collection for fashion lovers. The uber-chic
label, which works mostly with handmade textiles
crafted from various clusters in the country, uses
mostly 3D embroidery, with its silhouettes and
cuts being edgy and stylish.
In this collection, too, a lot of silhouettes
and cuts were played with. Structured jackets
with skirts, dhotis and palazzos; asymmetrical
tops paired with different styles; frills, layers,
and drapes done in a few pieces for more
flamboyance are present in this collection. The
textiles used are chanderi, brocade, Benarasi
georgette, kaitan silk, matka silk, muga georgette,
!@MCG@MHŭgeorgette, ikat, and others. To give
the collection structure, stiffer fabrics were used
whereas for dhotis and drapes, fluid fabrics like
modal satin and Benarasi georgettes were used.
The line is a mix of pastels, festive, and nude
shades, so colours such as pale blush, seedling
green, fox blue to black, warm sand, arctic grey
to peach, lilac rose, and snorkel blue are used.
The collection uses laser-cut techniques and
motifs and is accentuated with unconventional
materials such as leather dori, jute dori, velvet
yarn, and metals along with resham and aari. The
intent was to give the collection a fresh look, so a

to create a collection that is lively, and signifies
strength and power.
House of Sunil Mehra, a bespoke luxury designer
house, known for its unconventional designs and
approach to men’s fashion, launched its new line of
menswear and accessories, titled, ‘Power of Red’.
The collection is entirely awash in the colour red that
signifies love, sensuality, power, passion, strength, and
much more. The collection consists of tailored formal
jackets and suits which feature exquisite designs
and patterns that will make a statement without
exaggeration. From double-breasted jackets to 3D
line tuxedos, the collection has everything needed to
complete a man’s wardrobe. The jackets and suits
are made of 100 per cent-cotton, which lends them a
sharp and refined fit.
The range also encompasses accessories such as
cufflinks, pocket squares, and bow ties that add a
pop of colour to any outfit. It also features red wingtip
brogues and loafers adorned with tassels and trendy
