FREE EYE CHECK-UP CAMP AT JOGESHWARI, MUMBAI
The Association Organised a Two-Day ‘Free Eye Check-up Camp’ on 11th and 12th March,
2019 at Shreeji Industrial Estate for the benefit of the Workmen in the Garment Units around
Jogeshwari, Mumbai.
The Eye Camp was Inaugurated by Mr V M Kulkarni, Chairman, CSR Sub-Committee in the
presence of Mr Rajesh Masand, Vice President, Mr Rohit Munjal, Hon. Treasurer, Members of the
Managing Committee, CSR Sub-Committee of the Association, and Doctors of K B H Bachooali
Hospital, Mumbai.
A Total of 698 workmen were examined during the Two-Day Camp and 521 Workmen were given
free Reading and Bifocal Glasses as prescribed by Doctors.
The Eye Camp was well-received by the Members who appreciated this CSR Initiative of
the Association.
FREE EYE CHECK-UP CAMP AT SOLAPUR
The Western Regional Committee of the Association, in Association with Solapur Garment
Manufacturers Association (SGMA), Organised a Two-Day Free Eye Check-up Camp on 14th and
15th March, 2019 for the benefit of Workmen in the Garment Units in Solapur at MIDC, Akkalkot
Road, Solapur.
The Eye Camp was Inaugurated by Mrs Chandrika Chauhan, President, Udyog Vardhini, along with
Mr R K Jaju, President, SGMA by lighting the lamp in presence of Mr V M Kulkarni, Chairman, CSR
Sub-Committee and Members of Western Regional Committee, Managing Committee, Members of
SGMA, and Dr Mrs Madhuri Valvekar of Valvekar Eye Hospital.
A Total of 1,300 Workmen were examined during the Two-Day Camp and 817 Workmen were
given free Reading and Bifocal Glasses. Prescribed Eye Drops were also given free of cost to over
750 Workmen.
The Eye Camp was well-received by the Readymade Garment Manufacturers in Solapur who
appreciated this CSR Initiative of CMAI.
REPRESENTATIONS & CIRCULARS
The Association sent a Request to Shri Subhash Desai, Hon’ble Minister of Industries & Mining, Govt.
of Maharashtra, Mantralaya, Mumbai as well as to Shri Uddhav Thackeray, President, Shiv Sena,
Mumbai to take up the matter with the GST Council for a Uniform 5 per cent GST on the Textile
Industry, which would Benefit the Smaller Brands and Manufacturers and help them to Upgrade their
Products and Facilities and Grow without having to worry about Crossing the Limit of Size or Price.
The Association also made a Representation on 3rd April, 2019 to Shri Subhash Desai, Hon’ble
Minister of Industries & Mining, Govt. of Maharashtra, Mantralaya, Mumbai requesting him to expedite
Announcement of Implementation, Guidelines, Modalities of the Industrial Park Policy for Readymade
Garments as Announced by him at ‘Magnetic Maharashtra’ on 15th February, 2018 in Mumbai.
16th March, 2019 Cir. No. SZ/37/2019 sent to all Members of the Association through E-mail
announcing the ‘Source Zone 2019’ (Redefining Apparel Sourcing) which will
coincide with the 63rd India International Garment Fair on 4th, 5th and 6th
July, 2019 at India Exposition Mart, Greater Noida.
22nd March, 2019 Cir. No. 69th NGF/38/2019 sent to those Members who Participated In the
68th National Garment Fair held in January 2019, informing them that the
69th National Garment Fair will be held from 15th July, 2019 to 18th July,
2019 at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon (East), Mumbai 400 063 and
that the Association has started accepting the Booking from 22nd March,
2019 till 5th April, 2019.
27th March, 2019 Cir. No. G-2/39/2019 sent to all Members of the Association along with a
Trade Circular dated 7th March, 2019 issued by the Ministry of Finance,
Deptt. of Revenue, CBIT & Customs, GST Policy Wing, New Delhi, through
E-mail, pertaining to Clarification on various Doubts related to Treatment of
Sales Promotion Schemes under GST.
