CELEBRATING YOUR SUCCESS THIS IS A PART of organizational purpose that never gets old – recognizing the achievements of our members. We are totally pleased to offer congratulations for your success and to shine the spotlight on some very special people and horses in the Appaloosa community. Beyond the usual requirements of time, money and a measure of talent, any individual being honored probably possesses a dose of extraordinary commitment to performing at the highest level possible. Then there is the teamwork factor – between you and your horses and among the ranks of friends, family and supporters who tolerate your horse habit. The conditioning, training, practice and competition required to make it into the Appaloosa Horse Club Yearbook represent countless hours and countless miles. We are proud to acknowledge your effort and hope you will continue in the important role of ambassador for the breed. There is speculation about the future of horse shows, pari-mutual racing, access to trails, land use and even private property rights relating to horse ownership. Our equine world will certainly keep changing and we will be faced with specific decisions about where and how we will be engaged. The fact that you have made the choice to include an Appaloosa in your endeavors means a lot to us. As a membership organization, the ApHC strives to be an essential part of your plans and we certainly need to be actively involved in discussions about everything from animal health and welfare to ensuring appropriate venues for whatever activity you and your horses want to pursue. As we approach our 75th Anniversary (officially in December), it is worth noting that some important aspects of the Appaloosa Horse Club have not changed. Any strength we can brag about comes directly from a membership base that understands the power of passion, hard work and common goals. Since the founding of the ApHC in 1938 and the first National Show in 1948, our breed and our organization have advanced because of people who focused on promoting their horses and creating an environment that welcomes new participants. Thank you for extending the legacy! Along with our sincere congratulations, we offer best wishes for whatever is “down the road” for you. Keep up the good work and keep showing off your Appaloosas!
