PARKS and
RECREATION
Lakeville is well-known for its year-round scenic beauty and abundance of parks and recreational activities for all ages.
Contributing to its reputation, Lakeville has over 60 parks and athletic fields totaling nearly 1,100 acres. Nature areas, lakes, swimming beaches, boat launches, playground equipment galore, tennis courts, indoor and outdoor skating rinks, picnic areas, and sand volleyball courts adorn the area.
Nature enthusiasts will enjoy:
• more than 100 miles of paved trail for hiking, biking, or rollerblading.
• beautiful lakes from your boat, canoe, or kayak.
• fishing from piers or other designated areas.
• close proximity to five award winning area golf courses.
Residents continue to enjoy the great outdoors throughout the winter season on groomed cross-country ski and snowmobile trails. Ice fishing abounds on our lakes, and recreational or hockey skaters can enjoy outdoor rinks throughout the city.
Through both school and community programs, sports include baseball, basketball, track and field, football, hockey, volleyball, soccer, softball, archery, lacrosse, and swimming. The community is proud to be home to the South Metro Miracle League Field, offering accessible baseball opportunities for all ability levels.
