Letter from the Mayor
Bloomington has the range and variety of businesses that make this community thrive.
Bloomington is consistently voted as a top place to live and to do business.
As a resident, business owner and Mayor of this great city, I believe that Bloomington is the center of the universe. By that, I mean this community is central to the quality of many lives and livelihoods. We are also among the best of cities and I am proud of our people, schools and the businesses that contribute its vitality.
Gene Winstead Mayor
I am not alone in how I feel about this place. According to recent surveys, residents love it here. Businesses also remain positive about the local business climate and value Bloomington as place to do business. More than 8 out of 10 respondents rated Bloomington positively as a place to work, for overall image and for the appearance of the city. The survey also showed 93 percent plan to keep their business in Bloomington.
Whether it’ s a new neighborhood grocery store, restaurant, or new commercial or residential development, a city can’ t function without its businesses that provide jobs and promote a thriving local economy. In turn, a vital community helps businesses prosper. We are doing a great job. Good working relationships are at the heart of any successful business or community. Let’ s continue to build those connections to keep this success going. Together we are business strong.
