IN THE NORTH METRO
The MetroNorth area
is a great place to
work
The North Metro has a lot to offer when it comes to
finding your perfect place for employment. There is a
high demand for jobs and careers across a multitude of
industries.
With about 28,000 businesses throughout Anoka
County, approximately 193,000 people are employed in
the region, with manufacturing and health care being
the largest fields. Wages are high, with the median
household income at $79,169. Anoka County is home
to some of the world’s leading companies including
Medtronic, Aveda, BAE Systems, Pentair Technical
Products, and Infinite Campus. Other major employers
include Allina Health, HOM Furniture, John Roberts
Company, Mate Precision Tooling, Connexus Energy, and
many more.
Small businesses and fledgling companies find Anoka
County a friendly place to start or grow a business,
too. Taxes here are among the lowest in the state and
business incentives are high, with development packages
readily available for new and growing businesses.
No matter where you work in the North Metro, you will
be well connected. The area is served by several major
highways, including I-35W, I-35E, I-694, US Hwys 10 and
169, and State Hwys 10/610, 65, and 47. Interested in rail?
Northstar Commuter Rail is a safe and easy way to get
from multiple places in the Twin Cities region. Northstar
trains run from Big Lake to downtown Minneapolis and
provide an important link to a broader transit network in
the metro area, including Hiawatha and Central Corridor
light rail lines.
If you already live in the North Metro but are commuting
outside the area, consider the benefits of working closer
to home. It saves you time, money, and the stress of
being in traffic. So many of our local employers need
a qualified workforce and offer competitive pay and
benefits. You may be surprised at the type and quality of
jobs available practically in your own backyard!
